  • DRESS REHEARSALS

    THE FOLLOWING DRESS REHEARSALS TAKE PLACE AT LAUREL HIGH SCHOOL. Dress rehearsals are MANDATORY for all students! Please let your student's teacher or a studio manager know if your dancer cannot attend their rehearsal. Note: Dress Rehearsal is closed so dancers only, please! Parents of Creative Movement and Lil' Movers classes may sit in the auditorium with their child.

     

    Dancers must arrive 15 minutes before their rehearsal time in costume and may leave when their dance is finished.

     

    MORNING SHOW DRESS REHEARSAL:

     

    All 3-4 Year Old Classes

    WEDNESDAY JUNE 3- 5:00pm - 6:30pm

     

    All 5-7 Year Old Classes, Breakdance and All Boys Hip Hop Classes

    WEDNESDAY JUNE 3 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

     

    AFTERNOON SHOW DRESS REHEARSAL:

     

    All 8-10 Year Old Classes

    THURSDAY JUNE 4 - 5:00pm - 6:30pm

     

    All 11 and Up Classes

    THURSDAY JUNE 4 - 6:30 - 8:30pm

     

     

  • TICKET SALES AND PROCEDURE

    Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, May 12 at 4:30pm and are available according to the schedule below. Each dancer receives two (2) complimentary tickets; parents must sign for the tickets at the time of pickup. Any unclaimed complimentary tickets are released for purchase on May 26th.

     

    Tickets (complimentary and additional) are NOT available if there is a balance on your account. Tickets are NOT available for sale through email or over the phone; all purchases must be made in person at the studio, or at Laurel High School on rehearsal days.

     

    TICKET RELEASE SCHEDULE:

     

    May 12-15: Complimentary Ticket Pickup + 4 tickets/family available for purchase if May tuition and all other fees are paid on your account

     

    May 18-22: Complimentary Ticket Pickup + unlimited tickets available for purchase if May tuition and all other fees are paid on your account

     

    May 26: All unclaimed Complimentary Tickets are released for sale

     

    June 6 and 7 - tickets for purchase at the door, if available

     

    PRICING:

    ALL TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED BY CASH OR CREDIT CARD ONLY (no checks, please)

     

    General Admission: $20

    3 years & under (on a lap): Free

    Sibling Ticket (B. Funk dancers only who are attending a sibling's show): $10

     

     

     

  • RECITAL COSTUMES

    Costumes are handed out at the studio as they arrive. If you have not received your child's costume, please notify us via email. All costumes should be marked with your dancer's name before recital day.

     

    Please review the costume books at the front desk which are organized by class day to see what your dancer will be wearing at the recital, or go to the parent portal and click the "COSTUMES" button in the lower right corner. Shoe and legwear requirements for all classes are listed in the costume book at the front desk, or click here.

     

    Hair and makeup for all recreational classes is as follows:

     

    EYES: Natural tone eye shadow (beige/browns), black eyeliner and mascara

    LIPS: Red lipstick

    FACE: Foundation to match skin tone and natural/light blush, if necessary

    HAIR: Mid-height bun for ballet (with hair net or bun maker); mid-height pony tail (if long enough) for all other classes

     

    SHOES: regular class shoes for all classes except hip hop (pink ballet shoes, black mary jane buckle tap shoes, tan jazz shoes for 3-10 year olds; tan turners, black tie tap shoes, pink ballet shoes for 11 & up classes); sneaker colors and styles required for hip hop classes are in the costume book (any brand is fine, but please follow the color guidelines).

     

    Generally, ballet will require pink tights, 5-7 and 8-10 year old jazz/tap will require tan tights, and 11 and up jazz/contemporary will require tan tights or bare legs (see costume book for details, or click here).

  • PICTURE WEEK

    Group and individual pictures will be taken in the studio May 26-29. Most classes will meet during their normal class time, but please check the schedule below - any exceptions are highlighted. All Monday classes will be scheduled on a different day due to Memorial Day.

     

  • RECITAL PROGRAM ADS

    Personal ads in our recital program are a great way to recognize your special dancer, B. Funk instructor, or staff member! We also offer business ads to get the word out about local companies and services. Please click below for pricing and to complete an order form.

     

    This is a two step process:

     

    (1) Ads must first be paid for by logging in to the parent portal and purchasing the ad in our Online Store at https://dancestudio-pro.com/online/bfunk

    (2) Then the completed form must be submitted via email to bfunkads@gmail.com - please do not bring printed forms and photos to the studio.

     

    NOTE: THE DEADLINE FOR AD PLACEMENT WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON

     

  • RECITAL FLOWERS

    If you choose to present your dancer with flowers to congratulate them on a job well done, please purchase them from an outside vendor prior to arriving at the recital.

     

    WE DO NOT SELL FLOWERS ON-SITE

    You won't want to miss out on getting a recital t-shirt! Orders can be placed through the parent portal. There will be a very limited supply of t-shirts for purchase on recital day, so order early to make sure you get your size!

  • PRE-ORDER YOUR RECITAL DVD

    Dockside Video Productions is professionally videotaping each show and handling DVD and Blu Ray orders directly through their website. Orders may also be placed at their table on recital day at Laurel High School. NEW THIS YEAR - Dockside Video can now deliver your dance recital in a High Definition video format via a private Digital Streaming Service. Details can be found HERE.

  • VOLUNTEERS

    We couldn't do this show without our amazing volunteers!

     

    Volunteers keep our shows running smoothly by helping with costume changes, lining up dancers, and chaperoning dancers in the dressing rooms. They may be moms, dads, older siblings, or close relatives. Volunteers are not required to purchase a recital ticket to the show they volunteer for and are able to watch their dancer's routine by stepping into the audience one number before they perform.
